JJ MacLean is a cofounder of Vancouver startup Passage Labs, as well as Passage Give, an organization focusing on social impact in Vancouver. Infinitely curious, he has degrees in environmental chemistry and economics from UBC. A chocolate aficionado, he’s yet to meet a hot chocolate that he didn’t like. When he’s not hard at work at Passage, he can be founding enjoying a macaron or reading up on the latest news about Star Wars VII.
Julian DeSchutter is a co-founder of Passage Labs, a Vancouver-based technology company, as well as Passage Give, their philanthropic arm that uses technology to solve social issues in Vancouver. With his passions intersecting between building things people care about and telling engaging stories about them, Julian has found himself involved in building a number of companies, charities, projects, and communities. Aanchal Dhir is a Certified Business Analyst and CEO of Ambrot Capital Inc, a private asset management and investment company. She has more than half a decade of experience supporting technology and biotechnology ventures in both public and private markets. Aanchal has worked with successful accelerators and startups in a financial management role, and is currently advising two technology startups in the Lower Mainland. When Aanchal is not spending time crunching numbers and analyzing research reports, you can find her giving back to the local community through fundraisers and lending a hand to those in need.
Anastasia Hambali is a Vancouver transplant, yogini and tech enthusiast. Films & popcorn are her guilty pleasures; coffee being a close third.
Trevor Loke is a Vancouver Park Board Commissioner serving as the Chair of the Park Board Committee. In addition to serving on more than 8 civic boards in Vancouver, Trevor sits on the Board of Directors at YouthCO, a public health and education organization for youth. After successfully founding and selling Weeve, a crowdfunding platform, Trevor nows works with clients across North America as a digital marketing & fund development strategist. Trevor is Vancouver's youngest-ever elected official and when not working can be found playing hockey, reading, or walking the seawall.
Youmi Choi is a UI/UX Designer who has passion for educating people with pixels. She has worked with many entrepreneurs in Vancouver, helping build their ideas into real products. Nina Scott is the team’s resident fun-size events coordinator. Originally hailing from Scotland, she found her event-planning feet during her degree in English Lit at UBC, where she has coordinated social events, communications, media relations and programs for multiple student conferences. She has a love of books, singing, videogames, a good scotch, things that make her smile, and all things sci-fi.
